*Description* *Job Title*: Exercise Physiologist - Vassar Brothers Medical Center Cardiac Rehab - Poughkeepsie, NY. Part time, 24 hours per week, Variable 8 hour shifts between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. *Summary*: The Exercise Physiologist develops individualized exercise prescription plans to increase endurance, strength, and flexibility for cardiac and pulmonary patients. Provides care to all patients with their exercise programs, including performance of health risk assessments, orientation to new patients, and training to new patients by providing hands-on guidance. Develops, coordinates, and implements exercise related programs. *Responsibilities:* 1. Develop, coordinate, and implement exercise related programs for all patients based on patient population and individualized needs. 2. Prescribes an individualized exercise prescription based on ACSM guidelines to all patients utilizing patients test results, physician recommendations, and information obtained by RN during intake interview. 3. Updates all existing patient’s exercise prescriptions when deemed appropriate. 4. Documents patient progress every thirty (30) days. 5. Works with clinical staff to ensure patient’s safety, health, and well-being. 6. Administers Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT), under the supervision of a Registered Nurse 7. Demonstrates knowledge of testing procedures and equipment providing safety and accurate results. 8. Calibrate testing equipment according to manufacturer specifications. 9. Prepares room and equipment for testing including proper maintenance, care of equipment, and overall cleanliness of room prior to patient arrival. 10. Completes all required documentation for physician review and signature. 11. Adheres to infection control policies and procedures at all times. 12. Responsible for educating and instructing patients during their exercise class. 13. Monitors telemetry with proper documentation. 14. Reports any clinical adverse signs and symptoms to RN and/or covering physician. 15. Other duties as assigned. *Other Information:* *Education required:* Master’s degree in exercise science or related field. License Required: BLS/ACLS *Experience:*Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a health care environment. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team. Proficiency in EKG telemetry reading required. Salary Range: $25.70 - $47.72 hourly (Pay per years of relative experience) EOE, including disability/vets.
