Required: 600 hours in clinical stress testing internship
Preferred: One year of experience in related field\t\t

\tPreferred:

Computer Competency
\tFamiliarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet \tand computer navigation. Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions.

Physical/Mental
\tStand and sit (roughly 80% of the time), bend, climb, reach, restrain, twist (50-80%). Ability to crawl, squat, crouch, stop, kneel. Ability to lift to maximum of 35 pounds. Perform push and pull tasks up to 35 pounds. Ability to physically operate safe patient movement equipment. Hear speech, ability to speak loudly/softly. Distinguish sounds, colors, hot/cold and temperatures. Ability to use vision depth perception, distinguish near/far, fine motor skills and manual dexterity.

Position Summary:

The Exercise Physiology Technologist is responsible for conducting effective clinical exercise stress tests and for recognizing and responding to emergency situations.

36 hours per week, Full-timeDay Shift

What the Exercise Physiology Technologist will do:

• Performs diagnostic cardiac exercise stress test on symptomatic cardiac patients. Types of stress tests this position performs include:

Treadmill stress test (may also include an echocardiogram following the treadmill portion)Nuclear stress testPharmacologic stress test

• Works collaboratively with cardiac sonographers, nuclear medical technologists and registered nurses.

• Follows MHSM Cardiovascular protocols for the following: patient assessment, preparation, ECG monitoring for

changes, test quality and monitoring patient within the recovery stage.

• Communicates with the Cardiologist regarding any significant abnormal ECG changes.

• Documents appropriate information throughout the entirety for physician interpretation.

• Responsible for cleaning equipment, and for equipment repair notification.
