Position Summary:
The Exercise Physiology Technologist is responsible for conducting effective clinical exercise stress tests and for recognizing and responding to emergency situations.

• Performs diagnostic cardiac exercise stress test on symptomatic cardiac patients. Types of stress tests this position performs include:
Treadmill stress test (may also include an echocardiogram following the treadmill portion)Nuclear stress testPharmacologic stress test• Works collaboratively with cardiac sonographers, nuclear medical technologists and registered nurses.
• Follows MHSM Cardiovascular protocols for the following: patient assessment, preparation, ECG monitoring for
changes, test quality and monitoring patient within the recovery stage.
• Communicates with the Cardiologist regarding any significant abnormal ECG changes.
• Documents appropriate information throughout the entirety for physician interpretation.
• Responsible for cleaning equipment, and for equipment repair notification.
