Summary

Under the direction of Director is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the exercise for fitness center participants. This includes Cardiovascular Health screens, Health assessment, exercise testing, risk factor education and consultation. Familiarizes members with equipment, develops and carries out specialized programs per physician request as needed, Organizes and instructs clinics, or classes. Oversees the participant flow through the exercise equipment. Promotes the fitness center at community health fairs, and clinics. Supervises student-interns as related to overall programs. Abides by Parkview Health Standards of Behavior.

 

 

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the area of Health Education, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology or related field.

 

Licensure/Certification

 

Certification by ACSM or another certifying body, as a "Health Fitness Instructor" within 90 days of hire. CPR Certification.

 

Experience

 

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

 

Other Qualifications

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., 150 lbs. shared lifting. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Collaborates with other departments for community health fairs, hospital orientation and Parkview sponsored events.
