ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for Exhibitor Services staff.
Summary:
Under general supervision of the Event Manager this position will assist in preparing Convention and Trade Show events. Primary support includes providing power drops, hanging signs and banners, and services requested by the vendor for proper power/water or other requirements. Assist in organizing and maintaining event department equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and assist with set up/strike requirements for events requiring electrical power drops, water, bleachers, and other equipment rented per the contract.
+ Hang signs and banners from overhead beams following ASM Global Safety Policies and Procedures.
+ Ability to interact with vendors and clients in a professional manner.
+ Conduct walk-throughs of rented spaces to ensure set-up prior to the event, during the event and after the event.
+ Inspect completed work for compliance with company standards and client needs.
+ Follow and enforce company policies for team members ensuring safety regulations.
+ Adhere to all ASM Global Safety Policies and Procedures while performing within all OSHA guidelines.
+ Assist in the maintenance of equipment as required.
+ Regular attendance is an essential job function.
+ Position requires the ability to work at all ASM Global facilities in Wichita and Andover.
+ Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
+ Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications:

Skills Required:
+ Ability to hear clearly voices, alarms, bells and horns (at a minimum of 85 dB) and to speak clearly and audibly.
+ Ability to understand and follow simple directions communicated both orally and written.
+ Ability to effectively communicate using the two-way radio.
+ Ability to work at heights up to 50 ft on catwalks and personnel lifts.
+ Must have basic electrical safety, three-phase power, and temporary power installation.
+ Ability to take direction from multiple supervisory and management staff.
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and instructions.
+ Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.
+ Must have ability to possess and maintain current OHSA forklift and personnel lift certification
+ Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays based on the event schedule.
Education and/or Experience:
+ High School Diploma/GED required;
+ Maintain a valid drivers' license or have willingness and ability to obtain required license for equipment operation.
+ Ability to speak, read and write in English
+ Willingness to work any shift or as needed (irregular hours).
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk extensively, occasionally required to kneel, climb to high walkways or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. This position requires work inside and outside of the building and some exposure to adverse conditions.
