The Exit Planner is responsible for the inventory management of all exit strategies, focusing day to day on exit channels/outlets. Their goal is to support the business in providing a premium brand experience by planning and executing clearance strategies to maximize sales at the highest possible margin.
This position is responsible for strategic planning and execution of markdown inventory flow, including optimization of exit inventory placement across channels and locations by category. Teamwork and clear communication are essential. You are an essential part of the cross functional team collaborating with planning, merchandising, store operations, S&OP and DC’s. You have razor sharp attention to detail but also able to think big picture.
a day in the life: what you’ll do
This position is responsible for maximizing the in-season trading of the outlet portfolio. This includes forecasting sales targets, developing pricing strategy, gross margin targets, and open to buy management.
Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommends strategies to achieve financial goalsDrives execution of Exit inventory flow through establishment & adjustment of inventory parameters to impact replenishment and allocation activities Monthly plan review and locks: develop sales, receipt and inventory re-forecastsMake recommendations for key financial meetings/decisions in order to maximize sales, margin and inventory productivityLeverages systems, tools, and data to optimize markdown inventory placement across outlet locations, distribution centers, and e-commerce channels Analyzes historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities to business and recommends strategies to achieve financial goalsPrepare and participate in Business Review meetings and Store enrollment callsPartner with merchandising to develop projections and inventory flow for full price collections in outletsExhibit initiative to look beyond the everyday business to look for opportunities to maximize sales potential
Qualifications, skills & experience
3-7 years proven planning/merchandising experience within a vertical retailer preferredProficient in Microsoft Office Program and mastery in excelStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret multiple data points across numerous channels and market segmentsExcellent team player as well as the ability to work independently.Effective communication skills (written & verbal)Extremely organized, thorough and able to prioritizeDetail orientatedSelf directed problem solver, proactive and resourcefulResponsible, dependable and mature, with sound judgmentResults oriented - strong sense of motivationCapable of effective multiple demand management from a variety of sources and adapts well to change.Ability and willingness to accept and provide feedback.must haves
