Expansion Technician Entry Level (Mfg)

Job Summary

Expansion Technician will be responsible for technically maintaining production in a defined area of the facility. This would include troubleshooting and correction of process failures, overseeing expansion line setup, insuring best practice sheets are being recorded properly.

 

Job Responsibilities

Expansion Dev Technicians should be technically competent in running multiple materials, and process configurations. To be considered for Expansion Technician, a candidate would be required to meet the following minimum list of requirements. Meeting all of the requirements below does not insure promotion to the position described. A number of other factors such as work ethic, attendance, and communication skills will be evaluated.

Expansion

· Proper oven setup to include endcap and die installation with the correct number of dies

· Proper input specification and inspection

· Proper PTFE die selection.

o Jumper size selection and placement

· Proper pusher setup specifics and troubleshooting

· Understand proper FEP/FP shrink back procedures

o Recovery procedure

o Stability test

o Fluoropeelz peel test

o Longitudinal change calculation

o Calculated air

· Proper endcap and die installation.

· Proficiency running FEP 1.3:1 to 2:1, including multiple sizes with proper setup.

· Proficiency running Fluoropeelz 1.3:1 to 2:1, including multiple sizes with proper setup.

· Proficiency running Peek Shrink

· Proper heat shrink finished good inspection

· Process documentation and notes properly completed and organized daily.

· In depth understanding of Expansion troubleshooting guide(s) – defect/failure identification as well as determination of cause

o Blow outs.

o Dips

o Rec ID out of spec

o Exp ID out of spec

o Longitudinal change out of spec

o Peeling off track

 

NOTE: This list may have additions or subtractions made at any time. Additions and subtractions are directly communicated to the Technician seeking competency completion.

Must meet the Technician proficiency within 18 months from start date. If training is incomplete within 18 months then the employee may be disqualified from proceeding in the Technician program and will return to manufacturing shop-rate pay.

 

Qualifications

· Minimum of one (1) year hands on experience in operation of FEP/FP expansion line

· WorkKey Score Requirements:

o Math – Score needs to be a 4 or greater.

o Reading – Score needs to be a 4 or greater.

o Locating Information - Score needs to be a 4 or great.

· Wiesen score of 40 or better from Entry Level

· Ability to work in a team environment.
