The Opportunity
EY’s People Advisory Services (“PAS”) Tax team is an integrated practice bringing together 10,000 practitioners from Tax and Advisory teams to deliver insight and innovation on people, organisational and compliance issues. PAS Tax enhanced capabilities provide end-to-end solutions for an organisation’s most pertinent people related business challenges.
We are looking for an experienced manager to lead the expat/mobility payroll team. The strategic objectives are to continue to expand the depth and breadth of the projects we work on with clients from the perspective of scope, service delivery and strategic importance. You will oversee this team, managing the day-to-day operations and will have the opportunity to work on a wide client portfolio. You will have exposure to several projects through both advisory and compliance projects and play an active part in the development of this already growing business by identifying opportunities and winning new work, and the professional development of the people within the team.
The Team
The Mobility Compensation & Payroll team for Financial Services is within FS PAS Tax to provide managed services for multinational companies with a globally mobile workforce (assignees, business travellers and other agile workers). The team works closely with EY’s assignment services and mobility tax teams to provide the full end-to-end service to our mobility clients. The team’s core function is to deliver effective compensation & payroll management; helping clients achieve full policy and tax compliance, including but not limited to two main services:
Global Compensation Management
Compensation data collection and analysis for tax and social security compliance Global payroll coordination Pre- and post-payroll variance checks Policy check Accruals management Total cost reporting and cost savings advisory Management information reporting Improve the international experience, for both the mobile workforce and companies
Expat/Mobility Payroll
UK payroll outsourced services including HMRC’s EP Appendix 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 Managing end-to-end mobility payroll programmes Implementing new technology solutions & processes, and assisting during transition Providing solutions for increased global compliance Providing technical advice and assistance regarding new regulations Liaising with 3rd parties to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer of data Ad hoc expat payroll advisoryAbout you
Organised with a good attention to detail Ability to anticipate potential issues and/or opportunities for our clients Ability to be a strong and motivated team player Culturally aware & able to interact with teams worldwide Numerical and logic skills The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong communication skills Focus on customer service Expat/mobility payroll manager with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a consulting environment Experience in tax technical matters, including but not limited to: Tax equalised arrangements Application of tax treaties S690 Foreign tax credits A1s and CoCs Be able to manage and delegate to a team both on and offshore Excellent communicator in a range of situations
Your Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain key relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service Assist in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contribute to winning new clients Manage the successful delivery of client projects Oversee the mobility payroll compliance portfolio Ensure monthly deliverables are met from and to the client Validate year-end reporting information and required reconciliations Ensure adherence to EY Quality Risk Management procedures Understanding EY software & technology to facilitate preparation of numerous reports and documents Facilitate client engagement conference calls or attend client meetings in person Liaise with EY global offices as required regarding monthly deliverables and current regulation Management of shared email inbox, ensuring all required action is undertaken in a timely fashion Awareness of process / contribute to improving project efficiency Identify areas of risk or scope opportunity Responsible for delivery in line with KPIs/SLAs Assist with broader mobility payroll projects as required Managing junior members of staff and assisting with their learning and development
