Job Title: Expense Accounting, Associate/Analyst
The Expense Accounting team sits within the Expense & Treasury Accounting (ETA) team of the Corporate Accounting & Finance organization in Blackstone, supporting corporate support groups as well as Blackstone Securities Partners L.P. (BSP)/Blackstone Capital Markets (BXCM).
The team interacts with a wide range of business partners and is responsible for the accounting and forecasting of all Blackstone support groups. Additionally, the team drives regional occupancy and depreciation accounting and forecasts, as well as performing many ad hoc analyses. Interaction with other finance groups is extensive.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assist in the accounting and reporting for all of the Firm’s support groups and the other tasks included in accounting for our administrative/overhead entityDrive month-end activities including posting month end journals, GL to sub-ledger reconciliations, work papers, balance sheet and P&L analysis, allocations and standard accounting close tasksLeveraging reporting systems (e.g., Essbase, Sigma) and other reporting tools to support ad hoc requestsLead projects that improve controls, processes and system enhancementsSupport Blackstone’s broker dealer, including deal driven revenue accounting, expenses, reconciliations, regulatory filings, and annual financial statementsOccupancy related costs accounting and analysisFixed asset accountingCoordination with internal and external auditorsManagement of expense forecasting and budgetingSarbanes-Oxley Act complianceBalance Sheet:Reconciliations and relevant journal entriesIntercompany Reconciliation and Settlement of outstanding balancesBalance Sheet review and ownership of relevant accountsIncome Statement:Trend analysisBusiness by business review of Overhead allocationsQualifications:
2+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting function at a financial services firmUndergraduate degree in AccountingAudit experience preferredCPA licensure as well as SEC reporting and Financial Services industry experience a plusBroker Dealer accounting experience/familiarity a plusSeries 99 License a plus; licensing ultimately requiredStrong technical, analytical & interpersonal skills are requiredSuperior Excel and PowerPoint skills are requiredExperience with Oracle general ledger, Insight/Hubble Software or Essbase a plusExperience with Data Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma) also a plusAttention to detail, ability to multi-task, and accountability are criticalMotivated, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and results-oriented individual with a real sense of urgency and commitmentQuick learner and able to quickly turn around ad-hoc requestsInterest in process optimization and identifying opportunities for creating efficiencies, and comfort level with speaking up to communicate them

Expected annual base salary range:
$105,000 - $150,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
