Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to provide electrical installation and maintenance services to a wide variety of research test facilities that operate at a broad range of voltages. This role requires expertise in working from detailed electrical schematics and prints, bending electrical conduit, pulling large and small gauge wiring, and installing and modifying electrical panels and associated hardware. Future training may be required to obtain a qualified operator status within a test facility.

ResponsibilitiesProvide electrical installation and maintenance services to research test facilities operating at a broad range of voltages.Work from detailed electrical schematics and prints.Bend electrical conduit and pull large and small gauge wiring.Install and modify electrical panels, raceways, enclosures, motor-driven equipment, motor meggering, lighting systems, and other associated electrical hardware and devices.Essential SkillsMust be a journeyman or have 5+ years of electrician experience.Experience with electrical testing equipment.Ability to read electrical schematics.Experience with AC/DC motors.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of electrical system design, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and safety.Experience with voltage distribution, regulation, and high voltage systems.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) team at the NASA Glenn Research Center provides engineering and technical services in the aeronautics, space power, and propulsion test facilities. During testing periods (4 to 6 times per year), candidates must be open to working off-shift/second shift with advance notice. Example schedules include two weeks on days, two weeks on afternoon, and two weeks on nights. Shift differentials are 7.5% for 2nd shift and 10% for 3rd shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.12 - $36.12
