Boeing Global Services is searching for F/A-18 Technicians willing to on 1st or 2nd shift at Naval Air Station (NAS) Joint Reserve Base (JRB) New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.

Position Responsibilities:

Fabricates and assembles metal components and makes major/minor repairs to aircraft skin; installs rivets and metal fasteners.Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activitiesAssembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul.Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment.Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.Works under general direction.There is a great deal of standing, climbing, bending and stooping. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.Work may be performed outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. This position may be required to work at Stennis Facility as required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenanceWilling to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekendsMust be able to lift up to 35 poundsMinimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsMust be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Fighter Structural modification experienceF/A-18 (AM) QualificationsPrior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements, is preferred

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years of related work, Bachelor, etc.).
