The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Airworthiness Specialist to join our team onsite in Berkeley, Missouri. This position will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to the full range of activities required to support Airworthiness/Flight Certification of various aircraft and external stores for USAF (United States Air Force)/USN (United States Navy)/Phantom Works/DOD (Department of Defense) programs.
Primary responsibilities:
Critically thinks, problem solves, supports change management, project manages, influences without authority, and provides consultation. Communicates concisely with metrics, in text, verbally, one-on-one, in small groups, and to large audiences.Proactively communicates with various leadership team/s, peers and customers.Leads the development, maintenance, and communication of strategies, policies, and initiatives to enhance safety and airworthiness of Boeing products and services.Influences safety and airworthiness initiatives through applying specialized technical expertise in airspace operations, human factors, air navigation, customer operations, safety management, policy, or regulatory domains.Leads the investigation of organizational factors that contribute to safety and airworthiness issues.Researches, analyzes, and assesses complex safety and regulatory data, trends, and developments for impact to Boeing products and services.Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders (customers, regulators, industry, and external organizations) to identify complex safety and airworthiness issues and develops and implements solutions.Addresses complex safety and regulatory technical inquires and support requests from internal and external stakeholders.Develops, deploys and implements safety and regulatory policy, standards, and guidance.Analyzes regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements.Develops compliance statements for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products. Researches, investigates and monitors compliance processes or reported in-service fleet issues for achieving regulatory compliance and assists with implementing process improvements or correction actions.Supports engaging with regulators on moderately- complex programs or initiatives to shape certification approaches, activities, and artifacts.Provides technical guidance and training relative to complex safety and airworthiness matters.Supports partnering with regulatory authorities to complete validation of airworthiness to applicable requirements as authorized.Provides technical support, training, tools and resources to the delegated approval organization.Develops, reviews, and maintains compliance reports and documents in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations.Advocates internally and externally for safety and regulatory enhancements to support Boeing products and services.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceLevel 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience2+ years of experience working with or on an engineering teamPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
An active U.S. Secret or active Top Secret Security ClearanceBachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statementExperience with MIL-HDBK-516CExperience with certification plans and compliance assessments. Experience on multi-disciplinary teams to meet tight schedulesExperience on a large project or program which required the use of project management tools and processesExperience with the operation of aircraft systems or knowledge of aircraft performance in one or more of the following areas: aerodynamics, stability and control, propulsion, structures, and mission systemsDrug Free Workplace:
