Experienced Senior Associate, Fixed Asset Valuation

Job Summary:

The Valuation & Capital Markets Analytics (VCMA) Senior Associate works within a team environment to actively assist in providing commercial  fixed asset analytical, valuation, consulting and other business advisory services to developers, REITs, investors, financial institutions, hospitality companies, lenders and Fortune 500 companies.  This position works on various stages of valuation engagements, including areas of specialized valuation for owner occupied and multi-tenant properties specific to financial reporting.

Job Duties:

Assists in the creation of valuation assignments by providing research and due diligence for real estate valuations and reviews  Performs data analysis on large datasets through mass appraisal techniques Constructs valuation models and discounted cash flow models Assists with preparation of client deliverables Researches property specific details, and manages internal records  Assists in structuring the required documentation associated with the valuation assignment Abstracts legal documents associated with the transfers of ownership and leased properties Assists in the loading of client data into databases to perform analysis Cross references data amongst various sources  Composes appropriate narrative reports to support valuation analyses   Participates in external and internal client meetings Supervises and trains junior associates Other duties as required


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance, required Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance, preferred

Experience:

Three (3) or more years of experience in fixed asset valuation, corporate finance or accounting environment, required CPA, CFA, AM, ASA or other valuation industry credentials, preferred

License/Certifications:

Fixed Asset certification, preferred or being pursued; MAI candidate, preferred

Software:

Proficient in Argus Enterprise, Marshall Valuation Service, CoStar, Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint, required Advanced skills in Excel modeling, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Superior analytical skills with the ability to deconstruct complex issues  Capability of computer adaptability Ability to analyze and organize high volumes of data Strong organizational skills, specifically the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels Intermediate understanding of real estate Familiarity with all three valuation approaches Ability to perform real estate property inspections for valuation purposes

 

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

National Range: $110,000 - $125,000 Maryland Range:  $110,000 - $125,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $110,000 - $125,000
