Applied Material is known as the world leader in providing equipment for the IC manufacturing industry. The System To Materials (STM) group is bridging the gap from materials & manufacturing to systems in order to co-optimize all steps from materials to systems. The part of STM located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, provides EDA solutions inside and outside Applied Materials, focused on physical layout and design rules. Software includes automatic generation of standard cell layouts, design rule checking, definition and validation. It has complex algorithms and performance challenges (both runtime and memory).
The team is looking for an experienced software engineer.
Key responsibilitiesDevelop code and documentation for a variety of software projects, and design and implement bug fixes
Interfaces with internal customers for requirements analysis and schedule
Define software specifications to integrate components of existing software to offer new functionality
Troubleshoots a variety of difficult software problems
Perform software tests on code and enhancements
Compile data for software status reports
