Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for an Experienced Structures Mechanic to join our F/A-18 team in San Antonio, TX.
Position Responsibilities:
Maintain, repair and modify aircraft structures, structural components and enginesMaintain and repair aircraft components (flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components)Determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition to operation using airframe and power plant systemsMaintain schedules on assigned projectsInterpret technical blueprints or manufactures' manualsAssist team members in General Mechanics, Avionics/Electronics Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt, or lock boltRemove damaged screws without damaging surrounding structurePerform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structuresPerform structural modification and repair fracture critical areasUtilize advanced tools and equipment to fabricate, assemble and install aircraft structural componentsThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option (San Antonio, TX).
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
10+ years of experience with aircraft systems, structure design components and engines10+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics.Able to work variable shiftsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with F/A-18 or Depot Level/Structure maintenance and modificationExperience with multiple materials such as titanium and compositesExperience operating a forklift, mobile crane and riding type electric powered elevating equipmentExperience with Hazardous and Lock Out Tag Out systems applicationsTYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED and typically 10+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area (San Antonio, TX) or relocate at their own expense.

Summary Pay Rate: $77,314 - $37.17 per hour
Additive Pay: $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification
$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
