VCA Ocean View Animal Hospital of Pacific Grove is searching for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We have been a veterinary practice for over 50 years.  We are a boutique, 2-doctor practice providing general practice care. We are looking to add a highly motivated person to help expand our availability in providing high quality medicine for the pets in our community. We are looking for a strong candidate that can work independently and with a team.

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Veterinary Technician(s) by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Duties will include - but are not limited to:

- Obtaining vital signs on and triaging patients.

- Performing treatments on inpatient and outpatient pets.

- Performing diagnostics including in house labwork, hands free radiology, and skin/ear cytologies.

- Providing compassionate care

- Help train employees in various aspects of the job

- Maintaining medical records.

- Greeting and rooming clients and obtaining medical histories.

- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness with cleaning duties.
- Preparing the surgical suite and surgical patients including placing IV catheters.

- Monitoring anesthesia

- Filling prescriptions.

- Composing treatment plans based upon Doctor recommendations, and presenting them to clients.

- Maintaining hospital equipment and inventory.

- Utilizing our Care Club and Home Delivery programs to provide clients with a peace of mind and ease of care.

Compensation Range: $20.00/hour - $24.00/hour
