Job Summary
The primary role of a Finishing Technician 3 is to assist in developing the tooling package needed to create the airplane tooling components along with all aspects relating to the interior and exterior of Cirrus airplanes. These efforts would include generating low volume composite molds, painting of components and exterior finishes, along with fabrication and installation of interior components. The candidate must be highly skilled in surface preparation, sanding techniques and single stage and base/clear applications. Candidates filling this role must excel in a highly diverse team environment as well as be proficient enough to work independently and able to trouble shoot when problems arise. Applicants must have a high attention to detail and a strong desire to continually learn new fabrication and assembly methods.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. Track tasks from start to finish while maintaining a schedule. Tooling surface preparation, filler application and sanding. Taping and Masking of painted surfaces. Application of single stage and base/clear corrections procedures. Vinyl striping, placards, and lettering. Paint color matching and tinting. Installation of traditional and nontraditional interiors. Validation of new processes. Safe use of hand and power tools – HVLP paint guns.Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years of general experience Ability to adapt to changing technologies and materials. Ability to fabricate and install aircraft interior parts with minimum supervision. Proficient use of multi-component products like resin, gel-coat, primer, and understanding of proper mix ratios. Proficient in the practices associated with fabrication of high-quality tooling and fixturing. Competent with taping and masking techniques. Application of basic topcoat of interior/exterior parts with minimal defects. Knowledge of paint color matching and tinting. Create test panels used for testing new methods, chemicals, paints and processes. Awareness of chemical cross compatibility. Proficient in the installation of aircraft interiors. Safely use hand and power tools – HVLP paint guns, grit blast booth. Capable of independently leading minor installation efforts on Cirrus platforms.
