Major Accountabilities:
Design and develop printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for various electronic systems and components, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and best practices.
Utilize ECAD software tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro) to create PCB layouts that meet electrical, mechanical, and thermal requirements.
Apply knowledge of power electronics principles and techniques to design PCB layouts for power management, conversion, and distribution systems.
Optimize PCB designs to minimize power losses, improve efficiency, and enhance reliability in automotive applications.
Design high-speed digital PCB layouts for data transmission, signal integrity, and noise immunity in electronic control units (ECUs) and communication systems.
Ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of PCB designs by incorporating shielding, filtering, and grounding techniques to mitigate electromagnetic interference (EMI) and maintain signal integrity.
Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles to optimize PCB layouts for efficient manufacturing and assembly processes.
Apply understanding of automotive systems, components, and requirements to design PCB layouts that meet the specific needs and challenges of automotive applications.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior ECAD engineers, assisting them in developing their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional competencies.
Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in PCB design processes, tools, and methodologies.
Lead initiatives to implement innovative solutions, best practices, and process improvements to enhance the efficiency, quality, and competitiveness of ECAD engineering activities.
