We have an exciting opportunity for a Exploration Scientist to join the team with Mb Solutions Inc., a teammate company.\n

The Amentum JETS II contract seeks to fill an Exploration Scientist position in the NASA Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Division as a part of the JETS II Science and Exploration Department. This candidate must reside or be willing to relocated to Houston, TX for on-site work requirements at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.\n

The Exploration Scientist will:\n\nIntegrate geoscience, planetary science, and engineering objectives into various test events at NASA facilities (on and off site) relevant to human and robotic exploration missions including Artemis, Gateway, Orion, the lander\/ascent systems, spacesuits, EVA, and ISS\nCoordinate with various teams of scientists, engineers, and other professionals in exploration science labs, test facilities, and in the field, in a highly dynamic and occasionally time-critical environment\nDevelop novel data collection methods and perform data analysis of science objectives within integrated testing environments\nWork collaboratively across ARES laboratories and JSC facilities, including: Simulant Development Lab (SDL), Advanced Concepts for Exploration Lab (ACE), Image Science Analysis Lab (ISAL), Field Equipment for Exploration Training Lab (FEET), Science Mission Operations Room (SMOR), and other exploration, research, curation, and engineering facilities \u200b\nInvestigate science mission operations concepts, software tools, technologies, and methodologies for lunar and Mars mission scenarios\nProvide technology and hardware development for small exploration projects with various scientists and engineers \nDevelop funding proposals for submission to relevant scientific and technology grant solicitations opportunities \nInvestigate science mission operations concepts, software tools, hardware development, technologies, and methodologies for lunar and Mars mission scenarios\nAssist with logistics, planning, and execution for integrated test and training events at field locations\nOther duties as required \n\n \n

Requisition Qualifications:\n

Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.\n\nA BS degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience is typically required.\nBS degree in a STEM field\nScientific or engineering laboratory experience\nAbility to develop innovative work ideas and work without specific tasking\nProficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, programming)\nDemonstrated creativity and innovation\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\nAbility to work on a team and lead tasks when necessary\u200b\n\n

Requisition Preferences:\n\nMasters degree in a STEM field with applicable experience\nExperience with a variety of tools and technologies\nSuccessful grant proposal writing\nMission science integration and operations\nPrevious work with NASA and\/or in the field of earth and planetary geology\n
