Export Logistics Specialist
Overview This position is responsible for all aspects of exporting for Hussmann North America to specific international locations within the guidelines of the U. S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Industry and Security, US Census, and foreign customs regulations. This includes order entry, coordination, and consolidation of shipments for all modes of transportation and preparation of the export documentation as required. This person will assist in all assigned export transactions, as well as any compliance or logistical tasks as required. Responsibilities Daily creation of export documentation in compliance with US Laws and Regulations, working closely with Hussmann order management and shipping teams, by demonstrating clear/professional communication with internal and external customers. Document export compliance processes and procedures that drive regulation excellence, support the improvement in data accuracy used to prepare and create USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements. Daily communication with Hussmann locations, Freight Forwarders, and Shipping teams to ensure logistics and shipping arrangements are made and followed as instructed. Routine audits as instructed/required by supervisor. This will include the internal audit of records retained by the Export Branch and Domestic Branches participating in export transactions to enforce compliance and reduce risks and fines for Hussmann. Make appropriate decisions on the best way to consolidate products and export products to support lower costs and meet customer requirements, while still maintaining export compliance in accordance with all government regulations. This includes multiple modes of communication, transportation, and accounting transactions. Ensure compliance with country specific import and export regulations, inclusive of denied party screenings, export declarations, classifications, EAR, compliance, licensing requirements, adherence to special trade agreements (i.e. USMCA, CAFTA) and duty drawback programs. Assist with the preparation of Export Compliance training documents and participate in training cross functional groups, to properly train other personnel/departments involved in export transactions. Continue to learn, understand, and apply the daily changing U.S. and foreign customs regulations to all aspects of exporting from the Hussmann North American plants and or suppliers, validate and produce specific export documentation. This includes order entry through arrival at the foreign destination. Make appropriate decisions to reduce or avoid compliance risks by developing and implementing efficient and cost-effective procedures for the exportation of Hussmann products. This includes maintaining direct customers, supporting international locations, national and domestic accounts. Communicate effectively to eliminate non-value-added costs in export transactions. Qualifications BS in a related field (Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain management, etc.) Minimum 3-5 years of related experience preferred. Experience with Customs operations, Freight Forwarding, and the complexities of international logistics and supply chain Ability to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization Ability to learn multiple computer /MRP Systems. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong ability to document information relative to the processes and background for decisions made – excellent record detail and retention. Ability to prioritize workload to complete all daily tasks as mandated by workload and compliance issues.
