About the team

For our headquarters in Hengelo we are in search for an Export Sales Manager. The Sales Department is responsible for Order Intake and Customer Relations for the Thales Naval Nederland (Thales-NL) Domain with customers all over the world.
 

About your future job

As an Export Sales Manager Aerospace you will be responsible for the long-term relation with our US-based corporate Defence customers in the aerospace domain and the European customers of our GCC-PCB solutions. Your operational market is the US Defence industry and European customers for specialized PCB’s.

The responsibilities are business development, sales and leading the capture team for bids in the area of mission critical component in the missile missiles, helicopters and airplane domain

You will be part of the Sales team of Thales Netherlands that, beyond the Industrial Defence Solutions, focuses on Naval and Ground Based systems and sensors for a global market.

The Industrial Defence Solutions domain represents a core team of around 50 persons and is part of Thales Netherland with 2500 employees


Your core activities will consist of:

Managing the customer relationship: what are the customer’s current and future needs, how can we improve the relation and how can we support the customer.

Develop potential matches between customer prospects and Thales-NL strengths in technologies, capabilities and network in both Dutch government and NL industry. The responsibilities of the Sales Manager thereby include business development, partnership development, setting the strategy, sales and portfolio development of a products and services; 

Develop offset opportunities originated of Dutch Defence acquisitions. Act in these cases as liaison between Thales and the Dutch authorities.

Capturing contracts by proposing winning offers and successfully negotiate profitable contracts; thereby mainly offering in accordance with the Defence Acquisition Systems of foreign nations and respective OEM’s;

Demonstrably commercial skills and technical knowledge to explain solutions to the customer.

Not afraid of complicated Defence acquisition processes.

Challenged by complex worldwide Defence market.

Fascinated by high tech products and state of the art innovation.

A team player and is able to localize and mobilize the expertise and workforce needed.

Affinity with electronic technology, preferably in the defense industry.

Prepared to travel to the United States and other countries on regular base.

Experience with US Defence acquisitions procedure is an advantage.

Education, Bachelor or Master, preferable combination of Business Administration and Technology.  

Understands the concept of business development and Marketing.

Working experience minimum of 5 years.

Fluent in English.
