The Global Training Department is pivotal to DNEG's continued success as a leader in the VFX industry. We are looking for candidates who identify as either a 3D Generalist with a specific area of expertise or a specialist, eager to gain broader exposure to other VFX disciplines.
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to:Collaborate with highly experienced Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Trainers.Develop an in-depth understanding of the tools and workflows used at DNEG to create world-class imagery.Become an SME in multiple disciplines Best Practices.Become a DNEG Studio expert and share that knowledge through multiple platforms and formats.
Key Responsibilities
As a VFX Trainer in Sydney, your role encompasses
Delivering onboarding covering the DNEG pipeline, tools, and technical environment.Facilitating DNEG training programs to fast-track artists and production staff into current productions.Collaborating with SMEs in each discipline to design and deliver core and specialised training programs.Assisting departments with internal “Knowledge Share” presentations.Identifying and evaluating training needs in collaboration with departments.Contributing to the development and maintenance of training materials.Ensuring quality documentation is staged on the DNEG studio-wide intranet.Authoring, staging, and vetting content on DNEG’s Learning Management System (LMS).Working locally and globally with the training department and stakeholders to facilitate any training needs.Must Have Qualifications and Experience:
Degree or diploma in 3D Animation, VFX, Computer Graphics, Cinema/TV, or Entertainment Technologies.At least 3 years of experience educating, training, or mentoring in the Animation, VFX, or Entertainment industry.Hands-on experience with one or more DCCs, such as Houdini, Maya, or Nuke, within a pipeline environment.Proven experience in developing training curricula, including user guides, video tutorials, and documentation.Experience in management of documentation and training resources considerate of a global audience.Experience in collaborating with training stakeholders, including Heads of Departments, Heads of Training, and global training crew.Desired Experience:
Previous experience working with USD/Houdini/Solaris.Familiarity with LMS authoring/staging environments (e.g., EasyGenerator, Saba Cloud).Experience developing VFX training curricula.Proficiency with procedural workflows in Houdini.Scripting/coding experience (e.g. Python, VEX).About You:
