The City of Irvine seeks a passionate and motivated individual for the Extended Part-Time Public Safety Assistant - Parking Enforcement position. This particular position will perform a wide variety of non-sworn, support tasks for the Traffic Division of the Public Safety Department. The primary duties of the Public Safety Assistant assigned to Parking Enforcement include: + Answering calls for service. + Marking, warning and towing abandoned vehicles. + Issuing parking citations. + Acting as a School Crossing Guard as needed. + Assisting with directing traffic and road closures at traffic collisions and crime scenes. + Duties also include providing excellent customer service and conflict resolution. During training, Parking Enforcement Officers must be available to train assigned days with a trainer during the hours of 6:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Once training is complete, shifts are assigned based upon seniority and each parking enforcement officer will work 3-4 days per week.
