GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
With minimal supervision, review and process the employer's request for extra-territorial coverage, certificates of good standing, and jurisdiction requests. This position will be responsible for keeping any current extra-territorial agreements up to date. This position will also be responsible for working with COGS (certificate of good standing system), assisting with any issues that may arise in the system, keeping the functions working properly, and working with the Unemployment Insurance counterpart. Review of claim injury reports and ability to identify the appropriate policy for determination of jurisdiction. Oversee mass mailings, including monitoring daily office supplies. Ability to build relationships with other Workers' Compensation entities. Collaborates with other agency departments to ensure all customer questions and concerns are being addressed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
+ Review and process in-state and out-of-state employer requests for extra-territorial workers' compensation coverage. Will need to be able to work with other state systems and our claims system. Will have to learn and understand the current Statutes, agreements, and policies in place for Wyoming and other State entities. Maintain agreements and policies the State has with other states' Workers' Compensation entities for extra-territorial coverage.
+ Review and process employers' requests for certificates of good standing via email and claims system. Will need the ability to investigate policy information and financials in our claims system, WYUI, and/or the Secretary of State. Work with employer service account managers and auditors if needed. Ability to make appropriate determinations, approval, or denial. Will also issue revocations of certificates of good standing if the employer is no longer in compliance.
+ Assist in printing and processing files from Unemployment Insurance. Review correspondence from UI and determine the appropriate document type and account manager. Will need to research information on the claims system. Will also have to utilize the shared WYUI and WC drive
+ Review claim injury reports for policy verification. Ability to analyze and investigate provided information and system information to determine jurisdiction. Will have to know the WY State Statutes related to policy and jurisdiction. Ability to review policy information and financials in our claims system. Ability to teamwork with our claims department, account managers, and auditors. Ability to research outside the information provided at times such as the WYUI, SOS, and Clear ID systems.
+ Receives, separates, and disperses daily batch letters to the Workers' Compensation employer service team. Will need the ability to research policy information in the claims system.
+ Works with a variety of internal departments: Risk Management, Business Consultants, Unemployment Insurance, and Workers' Compensation Claims Team. Works with a variety of external departments.
+ Assist with customer walk-ins at the Cheyenne office. May fill in as a back up for employer service emails, main phone line, fax, and daily mail processing.

KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of research methods.
+ Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, practices, procedures, and policies.
+ Knowledge of investigation methods and techniques.
+ Knowledge of Workers' Compensation Statutes, Rules & Regulations, and policy and procedures.
+ Ability to assist customers in working through complex processes.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Ability to work within established deadlines, analyze situations that may occur, and provide input to management on possible solutions.
+ Ability to analyze situations and provide resolutions within Wyoming Statutes and Federal law.
+ Skills in oral and written communication.
+ Skills in the operation of computers and various software applications.
+ Skills in time management and teamwork.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility and/or Office Support Specialist).
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility and/or Office Support Specialist)
