Job Summary:

The Extrusion Maintenance Tech maintains and services all electrical and mechanical aspects in the Extrusion Department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Must be able to service all temperature controls on extruders. Must be familiar with all extrusion equipment. Must help with all maintenance type duties, mechanical and electrical. Follow all plant and Extrusion safety rules. Regularly maintain pack pressure, spin finish waste buckets, oil reservoirs, tack box filters, monomer, and main resin hopper screens. Change packs, jets, spin finish totes, and cooling drum filters as needed. Check compressors, air dryers, boilers and chillers. Keep work area clean and organized. Provide scheduled preventative maintenance and address any repairs. Report all defects and damages to maintenance supervisor. Maintain all records of repairs and maintenance conducted on the machines.

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

Lifting is required of machinery and parts weighing up to 150 pounds. Standing is required approximately 7 hours per shift. Reaching is required of machinery and parts approximately 100 times per shift. Stooping is required 4 times per shift. Bending is required approximately 40 times per shift for machinery and parts. Must use hand tools approximately 40 times per shift. Must be able to distinguish colors and shades.

Experience/Education Requirements:

Preferred but not required – Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical systems. Maintenance experience in similar field. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication. Computer knowledge and data entry skills.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to operate a lift truck. Overtime is required on occasion. Perform any other duties as assigned. All accidents must be reported immediately. Normal mobility, no abnormal fear of heights or confined spaces. Valid driver's license.
