**Job Title: Extrusion Operator - Nights**
**Job Description**
The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of PP extruders, co-extruders, hoppers, loaders, downstream and other related equipment involved in the production of PVC products. This position requires collaboration with all levels of management, including owners, managers, and supervisors. Additionally, maintaining positive professional contact with external clients is essential to ensure a smooth flow of information and materials regarding receipt and delivery of products and distribution services. Responsibilities also include packaging finished products and inspecting them to ensure they meet our highest quality standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Produce PP products that meet or exceed all quality standards for both physical and color tests while performing quality tests at a minimum of every two hours.
+ Limit the production of out-of-spec material by following all production procedures.
+ Develop a routine with the extrusion lines to ensure continuous production with limited downtime.
+ Follow all shut down and start up procedures to protect all equipment from damage.
+ Cooperate with other operators to provide continuous coverage for all extrusion lines during breaks, jam ups, etc.
+ Assist line packers and material handlers when needed during breaks, jam ups, and other high demand times.
+ Limit downtime with efficient line recovery in case of jam ups, power outages, etc.
+ Clean and handle dies, nozzles, tooling, etc. in a professional manner to limit damage to these expensive items.
**Essential Skills**
+ 1 to 2 years of experience in Plastic Extrusion.
+ 1+ years of experience in Plastics Manufacturing.
+ Experience with plastic injection, blow molding, and machine operation.
+ Proficient operation of extruders and downstream equipment used to produce PP products.
+ Basic math ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and understanding of conceptual math (geometry, charts, graphs).
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Organizational and time management skills.

+ Ability to use machine manuals to research warning lights, gauges, and operations.

**Work Environment**
Work in an open office environment with moderate to loud noise. The standard automotive plant environment includes PPE such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection. Personal attire standards may apply. Be prepared for extensive periods of walking or standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, and repetitive movements. The role may require lifting/carrying up to 60 pounds occasionally and working a varied schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime with short notice.
*****Starting $15-$17/hr in Washington, IN*****
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
