What Will Be Your Environment:
Strategically located in the heart of Southern California’s medical device industry, the 53,000 square-foot facility is equipped with test laboratories for device testing and benchmarking, prototyping and development, and clean rooms for volume production with around 120 employees.
What You'll Do:
As an Extrusion Technician Level I, you will be responsible for carrying out the production of medical grade extruded tubing in a safe and proper manner helping to improve quality, reduce scrap to meet all task and cycle time requirements You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.
What We're Looking For:
Work Safely with Hot Plastic, Plastics Machinery and Automation Express safety ideas, thoughts, and concerns verbally or in a written form. Adhere to all cGMP /GDP Standards, Procedures and Work Instructions Collect Product - By spool, rack, table length or bagging product if cut in line. Work 12 hours (with applicable breaks) standing in a clean room environment. Execute all tasks with no damage to equipment, tooling or automation. Proper cleaning, set up, assembly / clean out of extrusion work cells. Restock supplies for next shift Communicate information to next technician taking over line at shift change effectively Complete basic line clearance with no support (no functional testing) in addition to maintaining paperwork correctly throughout run (extrusion run sheet, checklist, in-process inspection sheet, and clock paperwork) Verify and confirm all routers and work order instructions before and during production, maintain all paperwork properly (with support of QC -Suprvr) Run material moisture test as required. Support and observe 5S and other lean manufacturing methodologies. Use SMED pre-assemblies Use of basic hand / power tools, plastics equipment tools- supplies (snap gauge, tank distance gauge, caliper, torque wrench, allen wrenches, brass – implements, proper use of propane torches and polishing wheels) Set up single lumen/single layer extrusion jobs, verifying correct inspection method, tool and dies are used per the work order and customer drawing with support from a Level III or higher. Set up Zumbach system for measuring the extrusion profile as produced Debugging and modifying of process as required with support from a Level III, Level I, II Technician or Engineer. Cut and measure product on MicroVu system Use pin gauges, snap gauges, or other tools for measuring product Document process parameters. Extrusion of tubing to desired specifications to expected schedule. Remove material from a dryer after production run completed, clean dryer and weigh / document material. Work ethically and respects those around them to create a positive, supportive working environment. Observe and promote Company standards and policies on safety, quality and productivity.Skills That Make a Difference:
Successful completion of high school, GED or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience as an operator, or manufacturing associate. Mechanical, machine operating or extrusion experience (preferred).
