Job Description:

The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities.  This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area.  Extrusion Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement.  Extrusion Utility Operators must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed.  This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.

What will be your key responsibilities?Operate extrusion, drying, coating, cooling, product transfer, and cleaning equipment and systemsOperate production and processing systems in accordance with Mars Petcare Operating Procedures; in a safe, productive, and efficient manner at all times.Perform Processing operational activity according to production and planning schedules and requirementsPerform required Quality Control checks and/or analysis on each production of processed and coated materials in accordance to Mars Petcare Quality Procedures.Maintain CCPs in the departmentPerform the CCP procedure according to SOPsPerform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storageProvide and perform routine maintenance and checks on equipmentProvide reporting and documentation of Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation activities in accordance with Mars Petcare Operating ProceduresAssist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directed.Provide functional communications with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety.Perform all duties in compliance with Mars Petcare Quality Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.Adhere to all Mars Petcare safety requirements.Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures in accordance with Mars Petcare’s Food Safety and Sanitation Program.Other duties as assigned.Assist the plant to meet or exceed production goals.Maintain a clean, safe work environment that promotes associate safety and product integrity.All associates are responsible for the safety, quality and food safety in their work area.What can you expect from Mars?Work with over 140,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
