WORK LOCATION
Position is located OCONUS at Aviano AB, Italy; work is being performed at an aircraft depot facility, including occasional flight line operations, hangar and/or aviation field environment.
Description:
Responsible for depot-level modification, upgrade, test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, testing, modifying, and repairing avionic as well as other electrical systems/sub-systems. Examples include radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems/sub-systems.
What you will be responsible for:
Modifies, upgrades, inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs aircraft avionic and electrical systems, such as aircraft installed radar, radio, navigation, and power systems using hand tools and test equipmentInspects components of avionic and electrical systems and equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installationTests avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness, using test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzersUsing hand tools, adjusts, repairs, and/or replaces defective components based on analysis of test results, following blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documentsWhen required, calibrates installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specificationsWhen required, operates ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systemsWhen required, assist in fabricating wiring harnessesAccurately document all required U.S. Government and program forms and documents, including electronic recordsMust effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representativesPerform other duties as assigned

What you will need to be successful in this role:
Must meet one of the following requirements:A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.An associate's degree, AP license, or FCC license plus 4 years of recent specialized related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.High School Diploma plus 8 years of recent specialized related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.5th generation aircraft experience is a plusMicrosoft Office Suite skills is preferredAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance is required.Due to the Secret Clearance requirement, US Citizenship is required.Must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift as-needed.The rewards of your career at AAR go far beyond just your salary:
