SUMMARY: The F&B Supervisor provides friendly and courteous service to guests and supervises, directs and provides support to the staff of the restaurant. They will communicate and follow all policies and procedures; develop and maintain a strong team; and operate efficiently while paying attention to detail. Must be able to perform all physical and mental requirements for each function of this position. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Staff, guide, direct, delegate, teach, discipline, and train staff in area of supervision. Effectively handle multiple projects and/or tasks at one time. Schedule staff for efficiency and approve daily floor plans. Ensure quality of food, completion of side work, outlet in show condition. Communicate with all staff and remain apprised of upcoming events through emails,  Meetings and classes. Interface well with guests; solve guest issues as needed. Ensure a complete closing of shift and proper hand over to next shift before leaving. Assist in any area or job duty that ensures the operation runs smoothly. Maintain a cooperative, professional relationship with all front and back of the house team  Members. Maintain and read all logs and reports. Maintain a competitive awareness of the local  Market. Demonstrate leadership by example. Demonstrate ability to make rational and cautious decisions at all times.  Maintain general cleanliness and organization in the restaurant. Other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Manager and/or Director of Food & Beverage. Must follow the Family Style Service values at all times.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Directly supervises the staff of the restaurant on a given shift. Carries our supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Tropicana Entertainment’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required. One or more years of related experience and/or training in a similar food outlet, hotel or casino atmosphere. Must have experience with accounting procedures and reports and have budgetary skills.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Must possess and be able to maintain a current Health Card, TAM Card, or other required certifications as required by geographical area of the property. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer skills required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Working knowledge of Infogenesis strongly preferred.
