What You Will Do:

The F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) Program is focused on the modernization of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) to meet aircraft upgraded Block-4 capability requirements. The Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI) organization is responsible for the integration of components, modules and sub-systems into aircraft propulsion systems.

Pratt & Whitney F135 ECU EDSI Team is looking for a senior principal systems integration engineer who will be focusing on design & sub-system integration as a Sub-system Integrated Product Team (SSIPT) Lead. Selected candidate will work closely with PW and F-35 JSF Joint Program Office (JPO) leadership to develop plans, execute, provide regular progress updates and reviews.

Work closely with Product Safety, Certification and Validation (PSCV), Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and EDSI teams to develop SSIPT requirements, work scope and schedule to meet program test schedule.Execute SSIPT scope using agile process with all participating teams and provide regular update to PW and JPO leads at agile demo days and program milestone reviews.Execute, analyze, decompose, validate, and document all relevant functional system requirements and develop critical integration milestones and handoffs.Execute design integration activities like Team Center (TC) configuration management, interfaces, weight and mass properties, clearances and gapping as required.Execute agile planning and digital transformation activities for design integration function.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 10+ years prior relevant experience, or a master’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 7+ years of experience.7+ years’ experience with engine systems and/or electrical and/or mechanical integration for military aircraft, or similar applications7+ years’ experience with design/project or structural/thermal/performance analyses.7+ years’ experience working in a matrix organization and integrate across multiple engineering functions and teams.1+ years’ experience with testing or instrumentation systems used for aero engine verification and validation.2+ years’ experience with project management and/or Agile engineering practices.Less than 10% travel expected.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Active Security Clearance.IPT leader experience or equivalent in leading technical team(s) in design/project integration.International Trade Compliance (ITC) with experience in export jurisdiction and classification.Knowledge of jet engine operation and experience in engineering with module center product knowledge.Experience working with military customers and being comfortable presenting to both military and PW leadership.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
