This position will assist and support the Fabric & Color Manager with all tasks related to raw materials and color. The role involves identifying and communicating new fabrics, yarns, techniques, and color standards, ensuring alignment with Product Development & Design, sourcing strategy and brand aesthetics. Additionally, the position will provide support for all Softlines and Home Textiles proprietary brands.

Position will follow a hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remote.


 

What You’ll Be Doing:

Report directly to the Fabric & Color Manager and support the Product Development and Design teams in aligning raw material and color trends for Own Brand assortments.

Communicate color needs, changes, and approvals clearly and promptly with vendors, agents, and overseas offices.

Apply standardized lighting conditions, accurate color terminology, and color communication software in color evaluations.

Participate in the tech pack process with a focus on color matching and execution.

Enter and update fabric development charts and raw material details in the PLM system.

Manage and maintain the fabric and trim library, including receipt and filing of new materials.

Review and assist in signing off on lab dips, ensuring alignment with color standards and effective communication with sourcing partners.

Support special fabric and color sourcing projects assigned, inclusive of seasonal raw material and color trend research.

Perform additional duties as required in support of Fabric & Color and various Product Development teams.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

•            Bachelor’s degree, or 3-5 years’ work experience.

•            Experience in color approval preferred.

•            Knowledge of textiles/apparel preferred.

•            Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.

•            Strong interpersonal skills.

•            Positive, high-energy with ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

•            Self-starter with a strong work ethic.

•            Experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems a plus.

•            Proven ability to independently problem solve, analyze, and assess.
