Fabrication Lead
This position will lead and provide support to the Aeronautical Accessories Fabrication department and any other assigned teams by assisting departmental management, while also performing daily functional tasks and assignments.
What you’ll be doing had Fabrication Lead
Perform all departmental tasks as needed, such as part fabrication, first piece inspection, part marking, and machine operationPrioritize workload and labor efficiency in order to assist the department supervisor in meeting department production schedules / expectationsAssign and prioritize specific tasksProvide regular product status updates to manager and interested partiesEnsure productions standards are met and high-quality products are producedTrain employees on tasks and drawing/specification reading as neededMonitor and report on performance of assigned employeesResolve production issues in an efficient timeframeAssist with discovery, root cause analysis, correction, and tracking on any product that generates challenges during the manufacturing processEnsure production area remains clean, FOD-free, and organizedEnsure compliance with all safety standards, production standards, Textron Business Conduct guidelinesBeyond the scope of normal assembly (installing rivets and assembling small components), this position may assist with the fabrication of High Visibility Doors, testing Rescue Hoist, assembling Emergency Float Kits, and other extensive / technical assembly operationsExhibit and always promote Textron value and behaviors, and provide positive leadershipOther duties as assignedSkills you bring to this role
Ability to perform fabrication duties (i.e. sawing, sanding, trimming, routing, cleaning and bonding) and provide guidance to other team members.Understanding of manufacturing/fabrication processes and lean processes.Ability to produce quality-driven results.Ability to lead and train others in a team-oriented environment.Ability to lead multiple product line completions with an aggressive delivery schedule.Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership.Ability to coordinate with multiple departments.Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, maintenance manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions closely, and good organization skills.We’re more than aviation experts, we’re pioneers. High School or GED5 or more years of experience in aircraft product manufacturingExperience in at least 3 of the following:Windows/plasticsTooling fabricationCompositesRaw material preparation and fabricationLight assemblyPreferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a leadership role and/or directing a teamAssociate or bachelor’s degree Green Belt CertificateForklift experiencePhysical Requirements
Ability to wear all required PPE specific to job duties (may include respiratory equipment) Ability to operate basic hand tools and departmental equipment safely and efficiently in order to perform assigned job dutiesAbility to stand and sit stationary for several hours at a timeAbility to lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basisAbility to operate computer, to include keyboard, mouse, and software related to job dutiesAbility to work in environment with exposure to various chemicals, dust and odors, and various machine heat cyclesWhat we offer you in return
