Fabricator - 1st Shift

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Cutting and forming metal bushings. Use various industrial machinery such as shears, flattening equipment, forming machines, hand tools, various gauging equipment, and hydraulic presses to fabricate bearings from coiled steel and other materials. Use micrometers and other measuring equipment to ensure bearing dimensions to satisfy blueprint requirements. Work with other Fabricators to set up and operate equipment and form complete bearings. Load and unload parts from industrial ovens.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED required. Fabrication school certification preferred but not required. Prior experience with manufacturing forming processes is a plus, especially those associated with sheet metal. Applicants should possess mechanical aptitude for conventional machinery (Not CNC). Ability to use gauging equipment, such as micrometers and calipers. Ability to read, or learn to read, blueprints. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings. Must be able to give, receive, and follow written and verbal instructions in English and communicate job related information to others. Must work well with people and be task oriented.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS:

The employee generally works indoors, where they are regularly exposed to moving parts, fumes, or airborne particles.  Due to the machinery in use, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. To facilitate the machining process, the employee regularly stands, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms and talks or hears.     Must be able to lift and/or move 50lbs unaided. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The incumbent must remain alert to prevent injury to him or herself and/or the equipment parts. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders], or have refugee or asylee status).

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Pay Range: $20 to $23/hour.
