**Job Title: Fabricator** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding together cabinets that house electrical components for locomotive controls. You will perform mostly MIG and some TIG welding on primarily mild steel. You will utilize blueprints to accurately assemble pre-fabricated parts and will operate various machines to fabricate production, prototypes, jigs, and fixtures. This position involves setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines, and precise measurement to specifications. **Responsibilities** + Weld cabinets that house electrical components for locomotive controls. + Perform mostly MIG and some TIG welding on primarily mild steel. + Utilize blueprints to accurately assemble pre-fabricated parts. + Sample assemblies to determine assembly duties and select materials. + Operate machines such as bench lathe, milling machine, punch press, shear, brake press, drill press, metal saw, and welding machine. + Set up and operate manual lathe, mill, and brake press. + Set up and operate CNC brake press. + Measure to perfect specification using a tape measure. + Complete one job every 3-5 days. **Essential Skills** + 2+ years of MIG/TIG welding experience. + Ability to work off of a blueprint. + Manual lathe and mill experience. + Experience with CNC brake press, drill press, and shear. + Ability to measure using a tape measure. + Must be able to calculate decimals and inches. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Fabrication experience. + Assembly experience. + Press brake experience. + Proficiency in using punch press and shear press. **Why Work Here?** This is a great long-term opportunity to be hired directly and advance into different departments. The company is non-union. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minooka, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
