Job Summary: 

We are seeking a diligent and detail-orientated individual to join our manufacturing team as a Facilities Custodian.  The Manufacturing Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization within the manufacturing facility.  This role is essential to ensure a sanitary and efficient working environment for our production team. 

Education and Experience Required: (Minimum and preferred educational requirements, years of experience needed to successfully perform the job – High School or GED, High School plus specialized vocation or technical education, college degree)

1.  High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. 

2.  Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

3. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.

4. Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to chemical handling and waste management. 

5. Ability to follow instruction and work independently with minimal supervisions.

6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.

7. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

8. Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude toward teamwork.

1. Communicate/Interact with all levels of employees in a professional manner.  Work and function as a member in a team-based environment.  Ability to learn and use established techniques for the efficient and compliant.

Working Conditions:

1. Generally, in an indoor setting; however, may participate in outside activities and events.

2. This position requires working in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to loud noises, odors, and varying temperatures.

3. Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as business dictates.

4. Wears protective clothing and/or personal protective equipment required by the work environment or governmental regulations.

5. Will be exposed to various cleaning chemicals.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Perform regular cleaning and sanitation of manufacturing equipment, workspaces, hallways, breakrooms, team rooms, and common areas according to established protocols and safety standards. 

2. Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of floors throughout the manufacturing facility, paying special attention to high-traffic areas and spill-prone zones.

3. Clean and sanitize restroom facilities on a regular basis to ensure hygiene and comfort for employees.

4. Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumables as needed to support efficient operations.

5. Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by promptly addressing spills, leaks, and other hazards.  Report any safety concerns or issues to appropriate personnel. 

6. Perform routine maintenance tasks on custodial equipment to ensure proper functionality and longevity. 

7. Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, supply usage, and any incidents or observations related to facility maintenance.

8. Clean light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, windows, and window coverings. 

9. Empties trash and garbage containers.

10. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

11. Notifies supervisor concerning any need for any maintenance repairs or additions observed.

12. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Certifications/Training Needed:

1. Blood Borne Pathogen Training

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
