JOB SUMMARY

The EHS & Facilities Manager will oversee both the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Facilities Management functions, ensuring safe, sustainable, and efficient operation of the organization’s facilities. This role will manage the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and compliance of buildings, equipment, and related services, while implementing EHS programs and policies to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment. The role involves strategic planning, budgeting, and coordinating facilities operations, as well as leading EHS initiatives to meet regulatory standards and enhance organizational performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Facilities Management Responsibilities:

Manage the design, planning, construction, and ongoing maintenance of facilities, machinery, and equipment.Develop and oversee facility modification plans, including budget estimations for labor, materials, and related costs.Coordinate the allocation of building space, layout design, and communication services to optimize facility use and efficiency.Establish, implement, and enforce organizational policies for facility operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.Recruit, hire, and train EHS and facilities staff, ensuring a well-functioning, high-performance team.Monitor team performance, provide ongoing coaching and mentoring, and ensure development plans are in place for team members.Evaluate performance through regular assessments and establish goals in alignment with industry standards.Ensure facilities management is conducted in line with corporate objectives and budgetary constraints.Support and oversee emergency plans, business continuity plans, and health and safety programs.Lead and ensure successful implementation of sustainability initiatives within facilities management.

EHS Management Responsibilities:

Implement and enforce global EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and safety in the workplace.Identify and mitigate EHS risks, anticipating new potential hazards and providing solutions for risk reduction.Lead the development and execution of environmental sustainability programs, including greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and emissions reductions.Conduct site EHS audits, assess compliance gaps, and develop corrective actions to mitigate risk.Provide technical guidance for EHS issues, including site-specific challenges and projects requiring external consultation.Drive EHS cultural change through influence across organizational boundaries, ensuring alignment with company goals.Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for EHS performance and report regularly to leadership.Mentor and build EHS expertise within the organization, assisting in the recruitment and development of site EHS professionals.Lead cost-effective implementation of corrective actions to minimize financial impact.Stay updated on industry regulations, trends, and standards, and provide recommendations for adopting best practices.

Key Relationships:

Collaborate closely with senior leadership and department heads to integrate EHS and Facilities management policies and ensure alignment with business goals.Act as the primary point of contact for all internal and external EHS and Facilities-related matters.Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as regulatory bodies and industry consortiums.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

Extensive knowledge of both EHS and facilities management best practices, standards, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001).Proficiency in identifying environmental and health risks, implementing preventive measures, and mitigating safety hazards.Expertise in facilities management, including space planning, budgeting, and maintenance scheduling.Strong technical skills in risk assessment, problem-solving, and cost management.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and facility management software.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.Minimum 8-10 years of experience in facilities management and EHS, including leadership experience.Proven track record of successful management in both facilities operations and EHS disciplines.Experience in a global/international organization is a plus.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
