Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
**Role Purpose**
Responsible for facilities equipment maintenance that enables it’s maximum utilization. Reviews and estimates facility maintenance costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Develops criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment required to meet unique operating requirements and building and safety codes. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Facilities Management: Ensure the functioning and maintenance of the building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, and plumbing equipment.
+ Preventive Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement preventive, predictive maintenance schedules for all systems and equipment to increase longevity and reliability.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the facility follows local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, fire safety, environmental standards, and accessibility.
+ Energy Efficiency: Implement strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
+ Budget Management: Understand and comply with facility budgets, making recommendations for capital improvements and cost-saving strategies.
+ Emergency response: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, ensuring systems are in place for dealing with emergencies, including natural disasters or power outages.
+ Vendor Management: Establish and manage relationships with vendors, overseeing contract negotiations and ensuring service level agreements are met.
+ Performance Metrics: Evaluate facilities' performance through analysis of data and metrics and provide reports to management.
+ Collaborating with other departments, such as operations, human resources, and safety, to ensure facilities support the organization's overall goals and objectives.
**Experiences/Education - Required**
**Education.**
+ Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
**Work Experience**
+ Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience working on facilities or equipment maintenance
+ Experience in large manufacturing operations
+ Knowledge of electrical substations, HVAC, hydraulic pumps, electrical motors, compressed air and reverse osmosis systems
+ LOTO Certification
+ Confined spaces
+ First aid training
+ FPS
