About the position:
The Facilities Engineering Lead - Static Equipment is a working supervisor role within the Chevron ENGINE Center Design Engineering team; and will support Chevron’s Refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets. The team is responsible for supporting the troubleshooting, analysis and development of mechanical engineering solutions for Chevron’s complex process facilities. The Facilities Engineering Lead - Static Equipment supervises a team of Facilities - Mechanical Engineers, providing remote technical support for daily operations, planning for turnaround events, and small projects. This position reports to the Design Engineering Team Lead at the Chevron ENGINE Center.
Key responsibilities:
+ Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Facilities - Mechanical Engineers providing leadership and guidance on standard tools and processes such as Engineering Work Orders, Management of Change, Chevron’s Turnaround process and Root Cause Analysis techniques
+ Set clear expectations and support creation and management of the team’s performance and development plans
+ Partner with customers and stakeholders to prioritize the team’s workload. Ensure the team is appropriately resourced to meet the customer's needs and business plan commitments
+ Responsible for the timeliness and quality of the team’s deliverables including Engineering Work Orders as well as technical and constructability reviews
+ Collaborate with other Facilities Engineering Leads to manage the Design Engineering department organizational capabilities and competencies
+ Promote a continuous improvement mindset while removing barriers and seeking simple, fit-for-purpose solutions
+ Provide leadership in sharing information and resources across the Business Units
+ Leverage and is familiar with the Facilities Engineering Chevron Engineering and Safety in Design Standards
+ Leverage expertise and knowledge of piping systems and codes, pressure vessel design, leak seal methods, hydraulic calculations, process equipment selection & sizing, equipment procurement, field construction & repair practices, process safety information, management of change work process and process control & monitoring to help coach, mentor and develop the Design Engineering team
+ Support department recruiting and hiring efforts
Required qualification:
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
+ Ideally 8 – 15 years of experience in an operational support role or similar for a complex refinery or LNG facility
+ Demonstrated supervisory experience will be highly regarded
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
