Facilities General Engineer
 

The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino is seeking a talented and qualified individual to serve as a property General Engineer.  The General Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of property utilities.  Troubleshoots, maintains records, inventories equipment, and maintains replacement parts.  Candidate must have three years of experience in general maintenance and/or commercial construction.  Maintaining compliance with internal standards, regulations and gaming regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned):

Maintain all building systems and equipment, including repairs, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and appliances to ensure effective operation. Inform management staff of problems requiring maintenance and report any equipment deficiencies. Receive keys, radio and job assignments daily, coordinate work plan and apply standard maintenance practices. Maintain and repair all building system equipment. Communicate with other shifts to ensure any follow-up on on-going projects in order to minimize down time. Respond to accident scenes, emergency calls (fire, smoke, etc.) and observe and assist Journeyman.  Act as a maintenance representative for the Property Operations department. All Property Operations employees may be required to assist in other job duties within the department at any time regardless of job classification. Maintain daily record of work requests, preventative maintenance work requests, craft cards and all union apprentice time sheets and related paperwork and responsible for maintaining optimum operating conditions for proper building operations during varying weather and building loads.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Plumbing and refrigeration experience a plus. Previous General Engineering experience required. Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in General Engineering. Hotel experience a plus. Candidate must have the ability to obtain/renew any applicable or required government licenses or certifications.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a track record of performing each essential responsibility satisfactorily.
