(ESAero) is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area that provides various services which include but are not limited to rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.
**This position is fully on-site at ESAero in San Luis Obispo, CA **
Job Summary:
ESAero is seeking a full-time Facilities Lead to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. The Facilities Lead will assist in the day-to-day management of ESAero facilities while collaborating with other departments and project personnel.
Responsibilities and Duties – Facilities Lead
+ Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of ESAero facilities. This will include the main facility and all satellite facilities.
+ Plays a key role in ensuring a “safe” work environment is maintained for all employees.
+ Monitor current facilities needs and play a lead role in any buildouts or other in-house construction projects.
+ Oversees building and grounds maintenance.
+ Overseas and maintains custodial functions.
+ Design and oversee the schedule for cleaning and disinfecting the building.
+ Fix minor malfunctions in office equipment.
+ Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
+ Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
+ Oversees and supervises the quality of work for other employees and contractors to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.
+ Manages and reviews service contracts. Work with SCM (supply chain management) to solicit RFQs and obtain competitive bids/contracts that meet ESAERO needs.
+ Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections.
+ Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.
+ Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.
+ Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees.
+ Forecasts, allocates, and supervises the financial and physical resources of the facility management.
+ Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments.
+ Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
+ Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
+ Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
+ Supervise any facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors.
+ Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
+ Allocate office space according to needs.
+ Coordinate with SCM for restock of office, safety, and break room supplies.
+ Keep financial and non-financial records.
+ Manage the facilities budget, perform analysis and forecasting.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Prefer a BS/BA in facility management, business, information management, or engineering
+ 5 -10 years in related positions
+ Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Strong writing & presentation skills
+ Willing to relocate to San Luis Obispo, CA
+ US Citizenship Required
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
+ Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
+ Proven experience working with local/state/federal government or other regulatory entities.
+ Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
+ Knowledge of building codes and associated trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC construction).
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Excellent organizational and leadership skills
+ Good analytical/critical thinking
+ Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage
