Position Overview

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a variety of duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position is non-supervisory and works part-time during the school year, with the option to work extra hours during school breaks/holidays. Duties include maintaining the facility and projects as needed.

Facilities:

Complete routine maintenance tasks as assignedAssist Facilities Supervisor with special projects as neededPerform and document quality inspections based on Facilities Quality System requirementsPerform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks to include: grounds care, common areas, trash and recycling, safety inspections, monthly and quarterly inspections, and routine and preventative maintenance as assignedCommunicate with supervisor when issues occur

Safety:  

Follow all safety policiesMaintain Work Practices: Maintain work environment to 5S standardsPunctual: begins work on time and returns from lunch and breaks on timeAll paperwork and database entries filled out completely and accuratelyPromote a positive team atmosphere with co-workers

Education:

High school/Post post-secondary education students 

Experience:

Construction and facilities class focus, and some experience preferredBasic knowledge of Hand and Power Tools.

Other Requirements:

Basic computer skills requiredAbility to lift 35 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally, and 70+ lbs as a team lift or with material handling equipment
