Penquis, a trusted social services agency with over 50 years of service to Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties, is excited to announce an opening for a full-time Facilities/Maintenance Technician. This position will be based out of our Bangor office and will be responsible for the maintenance of various Penquis sites in the Bangor area, including our Childcare Centers. This position will require fingerprinting as part of the background check process.
This full-time, 40 hours per week position offers benefits and requires flexibility, as the role may involve occasional evenings and weekends. If you’re someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment and has a strong sense of responsibility, we would love to hear from you!
Location: Bangor, Maine
Facilities Technician Responsibilities:
+ Perform necessary carpentry and in-house maintenance repair.
+ Ability to operate power equipment such as table saw, skill saw, drill, sander, lawnmower, lawn tractor, snow blower, etc.
+ Provide basic ground maintenance at facilities, including grass mowing, raking, pruning of shrubs, removal of snow, sanding, salting, and general upkeep.
+ Light building maintenance, changing ceiling tiles, shoveling snow, and moving small equipment and furniture.
+ Perform necessary cleaning to include, but not limited to, vacuuming, floor mopping, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, window washing, and emptying trash.
Facilities Technician Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; basic reading and writing skills; and computer literacy.
+ 1-2 years of related successful work experience in minor carpentry, painting, dry wall,
+ and minor plumbing.
+ General working knowledge of care and upkeep of power tool and outside equipment.
+ Valid driver’s license in good standing and may require reliable insured transportation.
+ Must be able to lift seventy (70) pounds.
+ Must be willing to work varied schedule, including evenings and limited weekends.
+ Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $16.98 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
