Facilities Manager

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee our Monroe, CT and Newtown, CT locations where we produce ceramic composite materials and manufacture products from these advanced materials for the semiconductor industry. The Facilities Manager is responsible for providing facility engineering, facility maintenance, overseeing daily facility operations and ensuring Environmental compliance. This position is a “hands-on” position, requiring a high sense of ownership and urgency. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the facility and support team as well as interface with outside consultants, vendors, contractors and other resources Develop and implement facility maintenance standards, procedures and guidelines including establishing KPI’s and document progress against those in regular management updates Coordinate and develop project specifications, estimate cost and resources, manage construction activity, and oversee schedules and budgets Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs Responsible for round-the-clock maintenance of facilities, physical plant health and safety Manage custodial services, and grounds keeping services Establish annual facility budgets & roadmaps Identify opportunities for savings, without sacrificing quality of services or reliability of facilities operation Continuously look for ways to improve optimization of facilities space, investment and utilities cost Perform regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuous, efficient operation of facilities Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the facilities operation

Education & Experience

BS/BA required, engineering or technical degree preferred 10+ years of experience managing a facilities organization Experience in the semiconductor or laser related industry in engineering, manufacturing, or manufacturing engineering desired Experienced with developing and implementing building security protocols. Semiconductor fab facilities experience a plus

Skills

Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations Knowledge of cleanroom environments, tool installation and hookups desired Proficiency with Work Order platforms and KPI reporting  Excellent organizational and leadership skills Proven ability to manage multiple projects with multiple contractors simultaneously Strong project/construction management leadership and collaboration skills, including scope development, equipment layout planning, RFP development, contractor selection, construction management to budget and schedule Able to execute plans, programs, and goals, motivate and engage the workforce, evaluate work accomplishments and provide effective feedback/solutions Ability to deal effectively with differences of opinion, to influence, to draw ideas from others, and to negotiate and mediate. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to comprehend and communicate at multiple levels within and outside the organization Skilled at developing relationships and mentoring Ability to promote an “Open Door” culture within department High standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership and competency

Working Conditions

Manufacturing Environment; possible environmental hazards depending on task.  May require off hours or weekend work.

Physical Requirements

Able to walk around facility and or stand for up to 8 hours a day. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull and lift 40 lbs.
