How will you make an impact:
The Facilities and Equipment Manager will be a key contributor in maintaining the efficiency of our production operations, collaborating with Production, Engineering, and Quality. Your responsibilities will encompass the operation, maintenance, and repair of our innovative production equipment and facility systems. This role is vital in supporting our ambitious goals in EHS, Quality, Delivery, and Financial performance. You will also be responsible for coordinating on-site IT activities, requiring a fundamental understanding of network computer software and hardware.
What will you do:
Coordinate all production and facilities equipment, including contracted services like janitorial and grounds maintenance.Lead a team of Maintenance Engineers across a 3-shift operation.Apply Problem Solving tools to identify root causes and corrective actions.Lead training initiatives for Maintenance Engineers.Direct and coordinate installation, operation, and maintenance of various facility systems.Manage Spare Part Inventory and arrange for the purchase of equipment and services.Lead site Preventive Maintenance Program.Develop emergency procedures.Direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications.Lead site-level CapEx projects.Support the facility’s computer and telephone networks.Investigate and troubleshoot basic IT hardware problems.Respond to unplanned facility emergencies.How will you get here:
BS degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering required, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in facilities equipment maintenance.3-5 years of progressive experience leading a maintenance team.Previous GMP experience in a Manufacturing Facility.Experience building relationships with vendors.Experience managing financial plans related to facilities and maintenance.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesExcellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to work with all levels of personnel.Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic plans.Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.Knowledge of FDA, GMP, ISO, and OSHA guidelines.Good mathematical skills and basic knowledge of statistics.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Strong Leadership Skills.Ability to grow and develop strong teams.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 65,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
