We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager for our LaPorte, TX facility.
The Air Products La Porte Facility is a large multi-unit, multi-product facility supplying the following in various delivery methods: Hydrogen, Carbon Monoxide, Steam, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, and Xenon.
The La Porte Facilities Manager has overall responsibility for all common sitewide activities and infrastructure including, but not limited to, utilities supplied to the operating units, site security and access, emergency response planning, bulk tube trailer loading, chemical storage management, waste management and disposal, buildings, grounds, roadways, communication systems and logistics. This role will own the Site Emergency Response Plan and ensure the site’s readiness to enact emergency procedures. The successful candidate must uphold a culture of E&HS excellence and ensure compliance with all contracts and environmental permits as well as internal and external regulations where applicable to the scope of the role.
The Facilities Manager is a crucial member of the La Porte Leadership Team and reports to the La Porte Operations Area Manager. You will directly lead the La Porte Facilities team which includes Operations Technicians, a Facilities Engineer, an Environmental Technician, and the site Security Team. This position will work closely with the La Porte ASU/LHY Manager, La Porte HyCO Manager, La Porte Maintenance team, and regional engineers to resolve facility issues in a timely manner while ensuring the site meets its safety and reliability goals.

Key Job Responsibilities:
EH&S Excellence
Lead the facilities team to achieve our “Goal Zero” target for injuries by effectively engaging our team and contractors in all aspects of our Basic Safety Processes and Process Safety Management
Ensure compliance and understanding of all policies, procedures, and regulations pertaining to environmental, health, and safety issues including proper documentation
Develop an understanding and lead the strengthening of our OSHA PSM compliance program where applicable to the scope of the role.
Provide or arrange Safety, Health, and Environmental training for our team and ensuring compliance with all company, State, and Federal requirements
Operational Excellence
Maximize facility efficiency and reliability by supporting all aspects of day-to-day operations
Identify maintenance concerns, developing and implementing corrective measures with the maintenance team and ensuring adherence to site preventative maintenance and mechanical integrity programs
Develop and maintain troubleshooting skills and familiarization with the process technology and chemistry within the operating team
Review, approve, and enforce the use of Operating Procedures
Use and update P&IDs, ensure P&ID literacy is achieved
Own the Management of Change work process for sitewide changes not specific to an operating unit and ensure proper steps are taken to implement and close out MOC’s
Continuous Improvement
Investigate worker safety, process safety, environmental and reliability incidents and near misses, understanding and correcting root causes of failures
Implement and share best practices, train in their use, and learn from incidents and investigations
Develop and maintain a multi-year capital plan for the assets within your scope
Leadership and Management
Champion a robust safety culture
Actively foster the career development of your team
Develop annual budget and review costs monthly
Represent the site during regulatory and corporate compliance audits
Build strong relationships with service providers and the La Porte LEPC
On-call responsibility
Minimum Hiring Requirements:
7-10 years of Industrial Facilities supervisory experience
High School Diploma or GED is required
