Gilbarco Veeder-Root is the world leader in refuelling and payment solutions for forecourts.  Providing and installing tank equipment, pumps, EV chargers, sales, and monitoring systems, we also ensure these are maintained and managed for our customers.

Based in Basildon, our European facility is at the heart of our operations.

We are seeking a Facility Manager who will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our office/warehouse facility ensuring everything to do with the physical infrastructure is operating as it should, that we meet all legal requirements and health & safety standards, as well as identifying areas for greater efficiency, cost-saving and new initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who is happy to get ‘stuck in’ from time to time when an issue arises and wants to create an welcoming, safe and vibrant office environment for the team and visitors alike.

Ideally the hours (32 per week) would be worked over 4 days based in the office, however we’re open to discussions on how best the hours can meet the business and successful applicant’s needs. We're also willing to consider applicants wanting Full time work.

·       have a sound understanding of health & safety, preferably with an accreditation.

·       have experience of buildings maintenance, including management of 3rd party suppliers and ideally some understanding of negotiating contracts

·       be experience with purchasing and maintaining everything that our employees might need, from furniture to pens; we have around 100 people that work (hybrid) from our offices - so it’s a lot of moving parts (and pens!)

·       be able to demonstrate high-level problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.

·   be results focused/self-driven with a natural ability to bring people together working cross functionally to meet objectives.

·       have excellent communication skills coupled with a positive attitude.

·       knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
