Role Overview
As a Facilities Manager, you will oversee the planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, tools, and physical sites. You will be responsible for planning, budgeting, and scheduling facility modifications, including cost estimates, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions. You will inspect construction and installation progress to ensure compliance with established specifications, coordinate building space allocation and site layout, and support the site Health and Safety lead in delivering and maintaining/updating safety training and records.
Responsibilities Plan, design, coordinate/schedule, monitor, and manage all maintenance needs for the physical site, exterior yard, and equipment, ensuring all identified preventative maintenance tasks are completed.Plan and execute facility CAPEX projects, including submitting required documentation for internal approval and obtaining necessary quotations from vendors. Manage and communicate expectations on project scope and scheduling with internal project teams and department drivers to meet business needs across organizational levels.Serve as Project Manager for site construction projects.Oversee and manage all facilities maintenance contractors/vendors required to support site operations and business needs.Develop and manage maintenance and capital budgets, including issuing requisitions and purchase orders, approving payments/invoices, maintaining documentation, and achieving forecasted budgets.Review organizational space needs on an ongoing basis, working with on-site departments to support business needs, including the procurement of off-site storage. Maintain leases and ensure conformance with requirements on leased spaces.Write, review, and update maintenance procedures. Train, assist, and/or instruct teams and temporary staff on department duties following standard operating procedures.Manage and maintain site security arrangements, housekeeping, and adverse weather planning.Conduct routine activities in support of the Health and Safety Manager.Update and maintain safety documentation and training records.Create, update, and modify training material.Deliver facilities/EHS training on a regular basis.Carry out necessary environmental reporting on facilities-related activities, such as waste streams. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities management.Experience in project management and budget management.Excellent leadership and management skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.A formal degree is not necessary for this role.IOSH certification is desirable.Understanding of ISO9001 & 14001 standards.
