Facilities Mechanical Engineer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

•System owner and engineer for all site mechanical systems and infrastructure •Act as project manager for new systems and existing system upgrades •Provide technical expertise on all mechanical systems and infrastructure •Cleanroom HVAC operations, support, troubleshooting and repairs •Utility building equipment operations, support, troubleshooting and repairs •Create/modify documentation for system operation and troubleshooting or provide input for facilities operations •Manage and supervise contractors for repairs, troubleshooting, and installations •Perform facility improvements or repairs as needed •Provide utility and equipment information to senior leadership as required

Education & Experience

•4 Year College Degree (Bachelors) in Mechanical Engineering from Accredited University

Skills & Other Requirements

•Working knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and components •Experience with rotating equipment assessment, repair, design, and operation •Safe work practice and Hazard Assessment •Ability to read, interpret and create system/component drawings and P&ID's •Basic knowledge of environmental regulations •Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team with a sense of urgency •Strong written and verbal communication •Ability to work safely without supervision around heavy equipment and hazardous chemicals •Administrative and technical leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments •Strong computer skills with proficiency using Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam •Effective presentation skills •Experience with Revit or other 3D CAD software a plus •Familiarity with medium/high voltage equipment is recommended but not required •Ability to analyze problems, make detailed recommendations to management, and implement agreed-upon solutions •Have a good understanding of manufacturing plant principles and operations •Must be able to interface effectively with many internal and external customers, regulatory officials, company contacts, and co-workers

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for an office environment and non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.

Physical Requirements

•Must be able to bend, reach, twist, turn and climb normally associated with construction work. •Will be exposed to areas where hand tools and power tools are being operated. •Will be exposed to areas where hazardous chemicals or gases are stored. •Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. •Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling •Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol

Safety Requirements

•All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and II-VI Corporate EHS standards.
