The Plant Support – Facilities & Safety position is responsible for ensuring effective vendor management, budget coordination, machine maintenance oversight, and safety initiatives within the plant environment. This role requires a blend of technical skills, budget management, and a commitment to safety and facility operations.
**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Monitor and audit vendor agreements and manage all related billing, including the K&S agreement for inventory and spare parts support.
+ Serve as Budget Coordinator for existing expense items related to machine maintenance and future plant expenses as this group takes on additional responsibilities.
+ Maintain the Master Machine Maintenance List, showcasing measurements and performance against established metrics.
+ Act as MAXIMO Preventative Maintenance Coordinator by generating work orders and procuring advanced materials to support planned maintenance.
+ Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to execute tasks accurately.
+ Troubleshoot process issues to enhance plant operations.
+ Provide guidance to other skilled employees involved in development and production activities.
+ Input Job Safety Analysis (JSA) data into Gensuite.
+ Lead safety initiatives and order necessary safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
+ Participate in safety corrective actions and plan follow-up measures.
+ Perform other related duties as required.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of manufacturing experience, specifically in machining, assembly, machine repair, or inspection.
+ Previous experience in safety, crafts, and/or facility management.
+ Proficiency in shop mathematics, including geometry and trigonometry, as well as blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
**Desirable Qualifications:**
+ Completion of an apprenticeship program.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to manage finances with a “Check-book” mentality, tracking weekly burn rates for each plant served by this centralized group.
+ Basic understanding of the cost accounting system related to Bullet Train budgets and accruals.
+ Experience with tooling and fixturing, and familiarity with tooling vendors and MAXIMO generation.
+ Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
+ Capacity to interface effectively with various levels of management, including Design Engineering and Project teams, as well as the shop floor workforce.
+ Skills in maintaining relationships that facilitate task accomplishment, cooperation, conflict resolution, and sensitivity to the needs of others.
+ Ability to accept guidance and supervision, follow work rules and safety practices, meet deadlines, and maintain punctuality and attendance standards.
