Facilities Planner (Hybrid)

The Facilities Planner carries out complex technical assignments associated with the development and implementation of architectural space planning and interior design for new or modifications to general building facilities throughout Eversource facilities. Project management of move/add/change tickets/projects.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office. 

Essential Functions:

Approve and process move/add/change tickets for Ma Facilities and cover other states as needed.Develops conceptual designs for architectural solutions based upon defined programs, as a basis for finished drawings for general building facilitiesPerforms field surveys and “as-built” investigations, including architectural and electrical disciplines, to ensure accurate layouts.Develops finished drawings of space plans and conceptual designs.Reviews and incorporates designs of related disciplines such as HVAC, Electrical, Structural and Telecommunications to ensure overall project document compatibility.Assists in the development of cost estimates and the conduct of technical studies involving projects and alternative solutions to architectural layouts.Specifies project materials, furniture, fixtures and equipment and assists in the review of technical evaluations of material quotations to ascertain conformance with specifications and project objectives.Assists in the qualification of prospective suppliers' materials, technical competence, and production capabilities.Provides technical assistance and contract administration during the construction phase of architectural project.Provides direction on office rearrangement projects by monitoring and reporting the cost, cash flow, and schedule status, and initiating corrective action as required.Coordinates with other company personnel, consultants, contractors, manufacturers' representatives, and others in connection with assigned design responsibilitiesCoordinates the work of assigned drafters, lower-level designers, and consultants in the development of architectural project plans.Serves as team leader on complex architectural layout projects.Identifies, evaluates, and implements applications of new architectural design concepts and components such as systems furniture and green building technology.Provides technical guidance and assistance to other system departments.Assists in the development and updates of Facilities office standards manual, space guideline policies and procedures and space finish schedules.Conformance of architectural layouts and materials to Eversource, governmental, and industry codes, regulations, standards, and practicesTimely completion of design assignments to meet established in-service dates.Proper coordination of design assignments with other areas of Eversource, outside consultants, vendors, and contractorsEconomic and reliable solutions to unique architectural layout problems

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

Knowledge of architectural layout techniquesKnowledge of federal and state regulatory codes (Ma Building & Life Safety Codes, etc.) and industry standards pertaining to the architectural layout of general building facilities.Knowledge of construction procedures and practices pertaining to the architectural layout of general building facilities.Proper standardization of materials and design methods.Ability to organize design projects and follow through to completion.Ability to interpret and relate complex information in a user-friendly manner.Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills including the ability to draw sound conclusions.Strong spoken and written communication skillsDemonstrated skill with computer aided design software, specifically AutoCad, electronic file management software, electronic scanning techniques and Microsoft Office applications.Ability to multi-task and shift among multiple priorities simultaneouslyBusiness acumenStrong team membership skillsAbility to be flexible and adapt to new situations.Ability and willingness to work with a sense of urgency.Strong customer service orientationPossesses a high degree of personal ownership and accountability.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or equivalent work experience.                 

Experience:      

Three (3) plus years of related experience

Compensation and Benefits:

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $89,000 - $99,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
